Whether you're just starting out, or have been in the writing game for a while, it's nice to find good writing instruction in one place. Happily, Glen Strathy has done just that. A fiction and non-fiction writer, trained in theater, Strathy compiles a huge amount of writing advice on his site, How to Write a Book Now.
I found Strathy's site while browsing around the internet, and I'm glad I did. Readers will find not only a blog full of helpful writing articles, but pages dedicated to topics like:
This is a site you'll want to bookmark and browse from time to time. It's like a handful of writing books all in one place.
What are your most-visited writing sites?
I've been told that some readers are having trouble leaving comments. If it's a problem, please let me know via email, and I'll work on it (dallenco[at]gmail[dot]com). Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great site Debbie...so much useful info. I spend very little time surfing the net so I love it when somebody else does the homework for me;)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, just a note here. I was having difficulty posting on some blogs and it turned out that I was using an old browser. I use Google Chrome now and all the issues are gone.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Leah. I love to see what other writers have collected for me! Eventually, I'll set up some pages here to make navigating the topics easier. Thanks for the tip on Google Chrome. My daughter loves it.

Ooh, I like this site, Debbie. I like how Strathy writes as if he was speaking to you--or at least it seemed that way to me as I read a couple of his posts. He gets to the point and has an underlying humor to his writing, which I especially appreciate.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation!
You're right, Janette, he has a comfortable way of communicating. I'm glad I happened to come across it.

No matter what kind of exercise you do, your body will generally expel sweat at a higher level than normal, so try to choose materials that are optimized for this. Cotton fibers should be avoided due to their inherent moisture-wicking defects (the level of sweat excretion in the chest is relatively high relative to the rest of the body). Also to be clear is that the breathability and strength of fabrics are basically inversely proportional, that is, when you are not doing high-impact sports, try to choose low-impact padded sports bra for the best comfort (especially when it comes to hiking. low-impact high-intensity exercise)
